Job Description

 
    JOB SUMMARY: 

    The incumbent will be primarily responsible for all system administration duties associated with enterprise systems management software. Incumbent will be expected to manage the systems management software, manage security configuration of systems, provide reports for management use, demonstrate system health and compliance based on pre-defined standards and routine maintenance. 

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Experience in Windows Server 2008, 2012 Administration, VMware ESX4.0/5.0,MSCS, IIS, Microsoft cluster administration in L3 level support.


    GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

    Technical/Functional Skills: 

    • Windows 2000/ 2003 and 2008, 2012 Server or proven equivalent experience
    • Maintain server infrastructure.
    • Provide in-depth high level diagnostics on all problems or issues encountered with the infrastructure.
    • HP Hardware platforms (DL and BL lines)
    • Dell hardware server platforms
    • Experience in Large enterprise windows infrastructures 200 servers
    • Very proficient in either Microsoft or VMware virtual server technologies
    • Experience with Active Directory (LAN Admin) 
    • Ability to assess both physical and virtual environments to increase environment stability 

    Roles & Responsibilities: 

    • Maintain server infrastructure.
    • Provide very strong system administrative functions.
    • Implement and assist with active monitoring of the server infrastructure. Actively pursue improvements in monitoring to maintain highest availability levels.
    • Develop and implement processes to automate and standardize routine engineering tasks.
    • Provide in-depth high level diagnostics on all problems or issues encountered with the infrastructure.
    • Provide technical support to other IT departments and user organization on relevant technical issues.
    • Perform testing of new or upgrades of the operating systems and system administrative software prior to implementing into the test and production environments.
    • Maintain special assignments of a technical nature and to develop alternative solutions based upon independent analysis.
    • Interface with equipment and software vendors regarding the testing and support of their products.
    • Develop detailed specifications and implementation plans for new versions of Operating systems and other Systems software
    • Contributes to policies, standards and procedures, and documentation of best practices/process improvements. 
    • Mentor less experienced administrators
    • Identify system performance issues and drives the development of tools to correct. 

    Experience Required: 

    • Experience with Microsoft technologies to include (Database clustering, Microsoft ForeFront)
    • Experience with HP and Dell hardware
    • Experience in VMWare and Virtual infrastructures (Infrastructure Assessment) 

    *Focus Areas: 

    · Windows 2003 with migration to 2008 including 2008 R2 & 2012. 
    · Installing windows and working with initial configuration and deployment aspects including configuration of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP and Clustering 
    .Experience needed with multiple hardware vendors and remote management of HP, Dell, and IBM systems along with the tools from HP and Microsoft (SCOM) to manage and monitor the hardware. 
    · VMware Experience & V-Motion & Linux OS. 

    Work Location: Bangalore.
