Business Description
The
Infrastructure and Platform Deployment team is responsible for serving
our clients for all their data center needs. The LOB Server
Implementation Engineering team is tasked with the server build process
for GTI and other select LOB clients, in conjunctions with Application
Development teams and their application load, up to production readiness
and go live.
Job Functions/ Responsibilities:
- The role is with the Infrastructure and Platform Deployment team as an Implementation Engineer working on projects. Responsibilities would include:
- Server integration activities Wintel
- Provide services as technical lead for projects
- Work with PM & disparate teams to ensure project delivery
- Quality assurance checks on work done
- Provide consultation with AD teams regarding application integration with deployed platform.
- Help resolve pre-production incidents and hardware issues
- Build process improvement
Essential Skills/ Experience:
- Strong Experience in Deploying and Operating Windows Operating System at the SA level with a strong bias towards automated deployment and operations experiences
- Extensive Windows Server experience
- 5 + Server build Hardware and Operating System experience
- Working knowledge of ESX, virtualization technology, shell scripting and server performance analysis.
- Knowledge of SANs, Veritas, VMWare, IIS, MS SQL
- Well versed in TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, DFS, AD.
· Extensive Clustering experience
· Knowledge of Blade Servers a plus
· Strong Engineering skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary
- Effective team player
- Understanding of a production environment
- Able to work in global teams/virtual teams
Preferred Skills/ Experience:
- Extensive and current Windows Server skills
- Strong scripting skills, shell and/Perl preferred.
- Working knowledge of Virtualisation methodologies
Education/ Professional Qualifications:
- CS / Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience.
Language Requirements:
- English fluency required.
